This is a post I’ve been meaning to write for the longest time and I’m finally getting to it. I have in my makeup collection a set of foundations that I always gravitate towards and that I find are the ones that look the best on my skin. I figured it would be a good idea to make a post about my top ones, just in case you’re looking for a new foundation to try or don’t really know which foundation to go for, from the drugstore.
Rimmel Match Perfection foundation is one of the best I have tried and my absolute favourite at the moment. The reason why I like it so much is because: 1. It covers well (I would say almost medium coverage), 2. It blend nicely, 3. It looks natural, 4. It’s not expensive, 5. It’s neither greasy, nor too dry in consistency. It suits my dry-combination skin perfectly. If you have yet to try this and you’re looking for a foundation to wear on a daily basis, I would highly recommend it.
L’oreal True Match Lumi Magique foundation is one that has a great advantage over the others: it has a whole array of colours to choose from, depending on skin undertone (cool, warm, neutral). As you probably already know, most drugstore foundations come in smaller range of colours, so this is one that actually comes with plenty to choose from. As for the foundation itself, the consistency is really nice and creamy, it also blends really well. This one has a bit more coverage than the Match Perfection one, but it still looks quite natural on the skin.
Garnier BB Cream is actually not a foundation, I know – but I feel like this consistency and finish is close to one and it’s one of my favourites, so I couldn’t not mention it. I have to say though, that I usually go for this in the warmer months. It’s really lovely and has a decent coverage.
Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation is an old favourite of mine, which I will go back to from time to time. It also has a bit more coverage than the other Rimmel foundation I mentioned and it has tiny little shimmer through it (not a lot though, no need to worry about looking shiny) that makes your face look glowy. I also reaaally love the scent of this foundation, although it does not persist throughout the day too much.
I hope you enjoyed this post and found it useful! What’s your favourite drugstore foundation?
