With Mother’s Day quickly approaching, I thought it would be fun to put together a list of gift ideas to help you out. Whether you are looking for a gift for your mum, a mummy friend you know, an expecting mum, your wife or any other mum in your life – you are going to find some lovely Mother’s Day gift ideas in here for each and every mum.
A fine piece of jewelry like this initials necklace is sure to be a great gift for lots of mums. You can obviously do the initials of their children on these and gift them something special to hold close to their heart. These necklaces are fine dainty pieces that are really wearable too.
Take them to a nice restaurant – Manuka Kitchen, London
Think ahead and make reservations at a nice local restaurant to you. Spending quality time with your loved ones is the best gift – in my opinion. What better way to show them you appreciate them?
If you are a fellow Londoner, you could have a look at the lovely bistro Manuka Kitchen, located in the heart of Fulham. They use responsibly sourced, local ingredients and they are famous for using British Wagyu beef to make their signature dish, Wagyu Beef Bolognese. Word has it that the wagyu beef is simmered for 5 hours until the meat is caramelised, which turns it into a velvety texture. This particular dish has been on their menu for the past 8 years and is their most popular one.
They also have a really nice set menu for Mother’s Day, so it’s worth having a look if you are undecided on a gift for that special mum in your life. An experience like this and a day spent together is sure to be a win.
Bamboo bath caddy + pamper bits
If there’s one thing most mums need, that’s a relaxing, pampering, self-care kind of day (or evening). Putting together a little pamper set is definitely going to be appreciated. I recently bought myself this bamboo bath caddy and it’s so lovely to put all your pamper essentials on it, skincare products, a nice candle, along with a glass of your drink of choice (whether that’s wine, hot cocoa or a tea).
New Mum Basket
For that expecting mum or the mum who’s recently given birth – put together a nice basket or hamper with little bits that they might find useful or lovely items for their newborn baby. Sure, you can buy ready made gift hampers if you’re short on time, but I think it’s a bit more personal and special if you put it together yourself.
Even better, get a basket that they can use afterwards for storage for toys or baby items in their nursery. Here are a few great ones:
Who doesn’t love skincare? There are loads of products on the market to choose from, but my favourite fail-proof brand when it comes to skincare is hands down The Body Shop. I have tried quite a bit from their different ranges of products and I’ve always been impressed by their quality. My personal favourites are: Oils of Life Serum, Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil, Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser.
A cool mug
Whether it says plain “mum” or it has a funny saying on it – this is always a simple idea for when in doubt. They are sure to love it, because – hello! – most mums need their morning coffee before they can function (myself included) – or their cuppa tea.
Put together a photo album with your favourites pictures together, photos of their children, special moments and memories. It such a simple, yet effective gift that they will cherish forever.
If you’re still uncertain about what to get them, play it safe and buy them a gift card to their favourite store. Spoil them to a day of shopping and they will surely enjoy it.
I hope this post gave you some Mother’s Day gift ideas for this year. What are you planning to buy that special mum in your life?
