The Steps
That all sounds great… but HOW? 
There are a few steps that guide your way to a successful blog (aka one that makes you money and brings you joy).
Step 1: Set up your blog.
Googling how to set up the tech side of your blog can feel daunting. What platform to pick. Theme? Domain? Hosting? That’s why sharing behind the scenes of a simple blog system can be helpful. Following click-by-click can make the process more achievable for more people.
Step 2: Write good blog posts.
The posts you publish on your blog are the heart of it all. The place where you pour your experience, where you spend so much time and energy creating. That’s why it’s super important to make sure your posts are streamlined in a way that serves your viewers, but that they’re also optimised for Google. Because this means Google will recommend your blog to more people.
Step 3: Get people to view your blog.
Your blog can be so much fun to work on, but it’s even better when it becomes rewarding, a.k.a. when you get readers to actually read it. You put so much time and effort into writing your content – how amazing would it feel to have a way to bring your beautiful content in front of the right people who will love it. We do this by optimising our blog for SEO (search engine optimisation) – ensuring your blog shows up in Google search. And through Pinterest, which is a great platform to bring more viewers to your blog, when used the right way.
Step 4: Set up systems to make money with your blog.
Yes, blogging can be highly profitable. But only if we have set up certain systems to monetise our content. What sort of systems can we use? It is completely up to you, the owner of the blog. But here are a few options:
- Displaying ads on your blog (get paid a certain amount for each view).
- Affiliate marketing (get paid when someone purchases a product through your affiliate link).
- Selling your own products or services (for example: digital products).
- Brand deals (get paid a certain fee when you talk about a product in your sponsored blog post).
Step 5: Have a backup and amplifier (aka email list).
A lot of bloggers underestimate the power of an email list. It is probably the best asset you can add to your blog. Why? It’s a good backup for your blogging business and it’s a way to amplify your monthly views through sending email newsletters. It doesn’t have to be complicated either, we go through it step by step.
Step 6: Create a system to help with consistency.
The way to get your blog to grow is to stay consistent. Consistency has become a bit of a buzzword, and it’s easier said than done. But I attribute a huge part of my growth to the fact that I never gave up. Even when I only heard crickets on my blog or YouTube or Instagram, I kept going. It takes experimenting, learning and growing as a creator to see results. All of these take time and require posting consistently. But it doesn’t have to be too complicated. I walk you through my simple planning system to ensure I stay consistent in my business.

No. Blogging Secrets walk you through from scratch. Even if you don’t have a blog set up yet, you will get a complete guide on how to start your blog right away, without the overwhelm.
Q. Do I need to be very tech-savvy?
No. I’ll be honest, I don’t know much coding (maybe a couple things I learned over the past few years). But I’ve discovered that you don’t need to be some sort of coding-guru in order to create and run your blog. Of course, there will be the tech-side of your blog that needs to be set up, but that exactly what the course is here to help you achieve.
Q. What blogging platform is used in this course?
I use WordPress for my blog and inside this course for all the tutorials. It is the platform I recommend to any aspiring bloggers. Having your own self-hosted WordPress.org website means you have complete ownership of your blog and can monetise it more effectively when the time comes.
Q. Do I need to have my niche figured out?
No, you don’t need to have a clear niche to get started. In fact, a lot of bloggers have no idea what their niche is when they first get started, but it sort of develops as they keep creating and learning what resonates with their audience. Results can vary from person to person.
