If you’re in the lifestyle blogging world or if you’re an aspiring Instagram influencer, you already know it’s not easy to become a member of the exclusive RewardStyle program (or LikeToKnow.It).

They have quite high quality demands when it comes to people they accept into their affiliate program. But I’m going to share with you today 7 tips on how to get accepted fast to LiketoKnow.It and RewardStyle.

Because it is totally doable if you focus on these tips and maybe change your content a bit. And it is also very much worth the effort!

The commission paid by RewardStyle is amazing and it will definitely help you better monetise your platform.

How do you qualify for RewardStyle?

The first thing that you need in order to qualify for RewardStyle is an account with quality content on one of the main platforms that they support. What does this mean?

You need an Instagram account or a blog, preferably both. Or, alternatively, you can apply with your YouTube channel.

If you have not yet started your blog, I highly recommend you do so.

I will say though, that all the people I’ve talked to who have successfully joined RewardStyle do use Instagram intensely.

I would say you absolutely should focus on having a quality Instagram account if you are serious about joining RewardStyle. I do feel like they favour Instagram, because it ties in together nicely with their LiketoKnow.It app.

So make sure you apply with your Instagram account, and then do link to your other platforms as well if you have any (like a blog or a YouTube channel).

How many followers do you need for LiketoKnow.It?

RewardStyle doesn’t publish exact requirements to join. They don’t have a set number of followers, views or likes that you need in order to be accepted.

However, what they do require is quality content and a legit Instagram account that is grown organically (aka with real followers).

I have seen people get accepted with less than 1,000 Instagram followers, because they had really amazing quality content.

I would suggest focusing on quality content and growing your following a bit before applying, as this will highly increase your chances of getting accepted.

If you apply really quickly before your account is grown a bit, they will likely reject you and you will have to wait for a few months before you can apply again.

So it really is best to focus on growth before you focus on monetising it.

But let’s get into exactly what you can do to get there faster!

7 Tips to Get Accepted Fast to LikeToKnow.It and RewardStyle

1. Have bright photos on your Instagram feed

It is no secret by now that bright photos in your Instagram feed are absolutely necessary if you want to see growth.

They make your feed look more beautiful, eye-catching and they just generally perform better.

So when you’re taking photos for your Instagram feed, try to either take them near a source of natural light (ie. a window) or use a ring light to make them brighter.

Having a ring light is not an absolute necessity. You can get away easily with taking photos in front of a bright window, for example. I use natural light a lot in my own photos and it works great.

One trick I will share with you though, I using post editing to make your photos brighter. This is so easy to do and it can massively improve your photos.

So this makes me to my next point:

2. Use presets or learn basic editing in Lightroom

You have two choices here:

• You can either learn basic editing in Lightroom (for example). What I would focus on, if you’re an absolute beginner, is amping up the Exposure, as well as the Shadows – these two settings will make your photos brighter.
• You can use Lightroom presets to instantly improve your photos with a tap.

I use Lightroom presets a lot and I absolutely love them. I have actually created quite a few free presets for you if you want to give them a try:

On my own feed, I currently use mostly my Soft Beige presets and the Browns presets.

It really does help if you have a cohesive feed with bright photos. Not only for getting accepted into RewardStyle, but also for growing your Instagram in general.

3. Focus on fashion, home and lifestyle posts

RewardStyle is a platform that focuses on fashion, home, beauty and lifestyle products. So, obviously, your content needs to reflect that as well.

If you are in a completely different niche, you might not get accepted.

But if you do feature lifestyle products in your content, even parenting content (for example: kids toys or clothes), that will work. If your content is focused on outfit ideas, beauty products or home decor and inspiration – you are the ideal fit!

So make sure you are in the right niche before applying.

4. Post consistently

Yes, RewardStyle does have a look to see how active you’ve been lately when you apply. They want to see that you post quality content consistently. So they might reject your application if it’s been two weeks since you posted on Instagram – no shade, as I’ve done this too when I needed a break.

It’s completely ok to take a break from social media when you need it.

However, I would say when you are in the application process, try to have at least a month of consistent content before you send in your application.

It doesn’t have to be every single day, but maybe every other day or 3-5 posts per week.

You do need to prove that you are serious about your Instagram game if you want them to take you into consideration.

5. Use the tag feature in your posts

This is something you should be doing anyway, whether you are with RewardStyle or not. Because it helps your audience and it also helps you possibly gain more exposure through the brands you’re tagging.

Say you post an outfit photo. Make sure to tag as many of the brands you’re wearing as you can. You can also @ mention them in your caption.

Or, alternatively, you can even tag the main LiketoKnow.it Instagram account, so that they see you’re interested in them.

6. Engage with your current followers

These days, it is not enough just to have a high follower count. Especially since a lot of people try to get those high numbers with shady practices, like buying followers or being part of those “engagement” groups.

Brands and affiliate programs like RewardStyle can see right through that, and will likely reject your application if that is how you’re growing your Instagram account.

Because now more than ever, engagement matters a lot. So if you have 10k followers, but barely get 50 likes per photo – they will know.

What can you do to get high engagement rates?

First of all, use legit practices to grow your account. Meaning: create quality content, post consistently and use good hashtags.

Second of all, engage yourself. Comment on other accounts, respond to your own comments, respond to DMs, have meaningful conversations with people in your community. This all helps build up that engagement in a real way.

7. Get referral from a current member

Yes and no. You don’t get paid just because you are in the program. You do get paid when you put in the effort within the platform.

Let me explain.

The way that you get paid on LiketoKnow.It is through a commission on sales. It is basically an affiliate program that holds multiple brands under its umbrella.

What this means is:

Once you get accepted to LikeToKnow.It, you can find on their platform the products you use and want to promote. You grab the affiliate link for that particular product and place it on your own platform. For example: on Instagram, on a blog post, in a YouTube video description box etc.

When someone clicks on that link and makes a purchase, you get a commission for that sale.

And that’s how you get paid through RewardStyle.

How does LiketoKnow.It Work for Influencers?

There are actually a few ways you can use RewardStyle to make money.

The first one is the one I described above: you use an affiliate link, you copy-paste that link on to your platforms and get a commission through sales.

The second way you can use it is through their LiketoKnow.It app. So you will post your Instagram photos on the LikeToKnow.It app as well, which is pretty much a shopping platform. Anyone who finds you on their app will have the option to buy products you recommend straight from the app.

The third way is you can create mini-boutique “Shop this Post” widgets on your blog to boost your sales on RewardStyle. This better showcases the products and gives you the opportunity to make more sales through your own blog.

How much do you make from Rewardstyle?

The amount of money you can make from RewardStyle depends on the products you promote and the brands’ sale commission. You can get anywhere between 7-20% commission on sales, again depending on the brand you’re promoting.

RewardStyle has a high commission rate in comparison to lots of other affiliate programs.

They also have a threshold of $100 for payouts. Meaning they make payments to you after you pass the $100 threshold.

Now how fast you get to that threshold totally depends on your effort and commitment to posting consistent quality content.

I will say, it has been one of my most lucrative affiliate platforms so far, so I do highly recommend them.
